Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Vialo Co LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, United States ("Sayara", "we", "us") for using the Sayara app and this website to find and book cars from rental offices in Lebanon. Our Privacy Policy and our Refund & Cancellation Policy are part of these terms. By creating an account or making a booking, you accept them.

Rental offices use Sayara under a separate office agreement; these terms are for renters.

1. What Sayara is, and what it is not

• Sayara runs an online marketplace where you can find cars offered by independent rental offices in Lebanon, send them booking requests, chat with them, and keep a record of your rental.
• Sayara is an intermediary. It is not a car rental company and it is not a party to your rental contract. Sayara does not own, rent out, insure, inspect or maintain any car. Your rental contract is between you and the office that rents you the car, and that office is responsible for the car, its condition, its papers and its insurance, and for carrying out the rental.
• The rental contract PDF that Sayara creates in the app is a record of the agreement between you and the office, made from the booking and the pickup record. Creating it does not make Sayara a party to it.
• Each office provides its own listings: photos, descriptions, prices, the security deposit amount, and its rules such as minimum age and accepted licences. Offices promise us that their listings are accurate, and we may remove listings that are not, but we cannot check every detail of every car.

2. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. To rent a car you must also hold a valid driving licence and meet the office's requirements shown on the listing, such as minimum age and accepted licence types.
• You sign in with your phone number and a code sent by SMS. Keep your phone and account secure. You are responsible for what is done through your account.
• Give accurate information: your name as it appears on your driving licence, and a genuine photo of your own licence.

3. Booking and paying

• The price shown for a car is the total rental price set by the office for the dates and options you chose. Sayara's booking fee is part of that total, not added on top. Prices are in US dollars.
• When you confirm a booking, you pay Sayara's booking fee online by card, through our payment provider. The app shows the exact amount before you pay. The booking fee is Sayara's charge for its service.
• A booking is a request until the office accepts it. If the office declines it or does not answer in time, we refund the booking fee in full.
• You pay the rest of the rental price to the office, in cash, at pickup. The office may also ask for a refundable security deposit, shown on the listing, which you give to the office in cash at pickup and which the office returns at the end of the rental. Sayara never receives or holds this money.
• If you want to keep the car longer, ask the office in the app before the rental ends. Whether it can extend, and at what price, is up to the office. Sayara's fee on extension days and on return charges: an extension requested through the app is a booking and carries the normal booking fee; an extension agreed directly with the office, and return charges (fuel, extra kilometres, late return), carry no Sayara fee.

4. Cancelling

Cancellations and refunds of the booking fee follow our Refund & Cancellation Policy. In short: you get a full refund if you cancel 48 hours or more before pickup, and none if you cancel later or do not show up; you always get a full refund if the office declines, does not answer in time or cancels, or the car is not as described; and a cancelled flight is refunded in full with proof.

5. Pickup, the handover record and return

• At pickup the office photographs the car from 8 angles in the Sayara partner app and records the kilometres and fuel. Look at the car and the photos. If you see damage that is not recorded, say so before you agree. When you agree, you sign on the office's phone, and the record can no longer be changed by the office.
• The records made at pickup and at return are the main evidence of the car's condition, for you and for the office.
• Return the car on time, at the agreed place, with the agreed fuel level. At return the office records the car again, and records whether your security deposit was returned in full or how much it kept and why. You can see this in your trip.
• Charges for fuel, extra kilometres or a late return are set by the office according to its rates shown on the listing or agreed with you, and are paid to the office.
• Drive lawfully and follow the office's rules on where and how its car may be used. Traffic fines and similar charges from your rental are between you and the office, under the law and your rental contract.

6. Insurance, damage and the security deposit

• The office is responsible for insuring its cars as Lebanese law requires. Sayara does not sell or provide insurance. Before you drive, ask the office what its insurance covers and how much you would have to pay if the car were damaged.
• If there is an accident or damage, tell the office straight away and follow the law and the office's instructions.
• Damage claims, deductions from the security deposit and their payment are between you and the office. Sayara can review the handover records, and any messages that either of you reports to us or shows us, give both sides its view, and take action on accounts that break these terms. Sayara is not an insurer or a court, and it does not collect or pay damage charges or deposits.

7. Messages, reviews and behaviour

• Use the in-app chat for your booking and be respectful. Do not send anything unlawful, abusive, threatening, discriminatory or misleading, or spam.
• Either of you can report a conversation; its recent messages (up to the last 50) are then sent to Sayara for review. Either of you can block a conversation.
• Reviews must be honest and about a rental that really happened.
• Do not misuse the app: do not try to access data that is not yours, copy listings in bulk, interfere with the service, or use Sayara to find a car and then arrange the same rental outside the app to avoid the booking fee.

8. Suspending and closing accounts

• We may warn you, suspend or close your account, or cancel a booking, if we reasonably believe that you have broken these terms or the law, that you put others at risk, or that fraud is involved. If we cancel a booking you paid for and you did not break these terms, we refund the booking fee in full.
• If we ban an account, the person may not open a new one. We keep a one-way hash of the phone number to enforce this (see the Privacy Policy).
• You can stop using Sayara and delete your account at any time, except while you have an accepted booking or a rental in progress or in dispute.

9. Our responsibility

• We work to keep Sayara available and accurate, but we cannot promise that the app will always work without interruption or errors.
• Because Sayara is not a party to the rental, Sayara is not responsible for how the office performs the rental, for the car, or for its insurance, except where a loss results from Sayara's own fault.
• As far as the law allows, Sayara's total liability to you in connection with a booking is limited to the booking fee you paid for that booking.
• Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for fraud or gross fault, or your rights as a consumer under Lebanese law.

10. Changes

We may change Sayara and these terms. We will update the effective date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. A booking you have already made stays under the terms that applied when you made it.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon. If you have a complaint, contact us first and we will try to resolve it with you. Any dispute that cannot be resolved this way will be settled by the courts of Beirut.

These terms are published in English and Arabic. If the two versions differ, we will apply the version that is more favourable to you.
