Sayara is a marketplace, not a rental company.
Your rental contract is with the office that rents you the car. The office is responsible for the car and its insurance. Sayara runs the app, takes the booking fee, and keeps the record of your rental.
How it works
From the first search to the deposit coming back.
The booking, the chat, the handover photos and the deposit return all happen in the app, so there is a record of each step.
Book
Choose a car and dates, see the total price, and pay the booking fee online. Your request goes to the office.
The office accepts
A chat with the office opens in the app for questions about pickup, the car or anything else.
Pick up
The office photographs the car from 8 angles and records the fuel and kilometres. You check, agree and sign on the office’s phone, then pay the rest and the deposit in cash.
Return
The car is photographed again. The office records whether your security deposit came back in full, or what was kept and why, and you see it in your trip.
On the record
What would usually be “trust me” is written down.
- The price, up front
- The total price is shown before you book. The booking fee is part of it, not added on top.
- 8 photos, both ways
- The car’s condition at pickup and at return, with the time each photo was taken. Once you agree to the pickup record, it cannot be changed.
- The deposit return
- What the office gave back, and the reason for anything it kept, is recorded at return.
- A rental contract
- A PDF of the rental, made from the booking and the pickup record, available in the app once the rental starts.
- Chat in the app
- Messages stay between you and the office. If either of you reports a conversation, its recent messages go to Sayara for review.
- Your licence, kept private
- The office can open your licence photo only for your booking, until about 30 days after the rental (longer only while a damage claim is open).
If plans change
One refund policy for the booking fee.
The booking fee is the only thing you pay before pickup, so it is the only thing there is to refund.
